Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for the Williamson County Fair Association is comprised of experienced and talented members of the Williamson County community. They are a diverse group of people that are invested and committed to breathing life into the past by promoting and educating the agriculture history and traditions of Williamson County.

Nathan Winstead, Board President

Nathan Winstead currently serves as a Relationship Manager for Capital Farm Credit in Round Rock, Texas. Capital Farm Credit is a customer-owned cooperative established in 1917 as part of the Farm Credit System. Nathan’s areas of concentration are providing loan solutions to farmers, ranchers, agribusiness owners, and rural home and land owners. Prior to joining the Capital Farm Credit team, Nathan has spent the last 15 years as a Vice President in Farm Credit and Commercial Banking, and also worked in public sector. He is an accomplished business development professional in the financial services industry. Nathan serves as a Past President of the Rotary Club of Georgetown, former Director of the Williamson County Livestock Association, and is actively involved in the Austin area business community.

Scott Heselmeyer, Past President

Scott Heselmeyer currently serves as Williamson County Treasurer.A native of Thrall, TX and sixth generation Williamson County resident. Since the 1870's, generations of Heselmeyer's family have ranched and farmed in Williamson County.

In addition to his duties as County Treasurer, Heselmeyer has practiced law in Williamson County for 16 years and has served on the board of a local community bank as well as numerous local nonprofits including the Williamson County Livestock Association.

Heselmeyer and his wife, Amanda, are blessed with their daughter, Kirsten, and son, Preston. The Heselmeyer family manages a small herd of Hereford and Maine-Anjou cattle. The Heselmeyer family spends their spare time showing cattle all around the great state of Texas.

Kelley Hernandez -Host, Executive Director

Kelley Hernandez currently serves as the Chief of Staff for Williamson County Commissioner Russ Boles, Precinct 4. Hernandez recently served as the Event Chair for the Hutto YMCA Board of Directors and was recognized as their Volunteer of the Year in 2021. That same year she was also awarded the high honor as the Hutto Citizen of the Year.

Prior to joining the Commissioners team, Hernandez worked in Hutto, Texas as the Director of the Brushy Creek Amphitheater and held two positions at the Hutto Chamber of Commerce as the Operations Manager & Event Coordinator. She has worked the better part of her business career in the Events and Marketing field.

She was born in Chicago, but truly considers herself a native of Washington State as she lived there for nearly 30 years. Kelley is the mother of two beautiful children Baylee and Drew and considers them her two greatest accomplishments in life.

Kim Sander, Board of Directors - Board Treasurer

Kimberley Sander currently serves as Vice President of Community Banking & Branch Manager for Frontier Bank of Texas in Taylor. Sander focuses on community involvement & personal banking services for individuals, families, farmers & ranchers, professionals, & businesses.

Prior to joining the Frontier Bank of Texas team, Kim spent the last 20 plus years in community banking. She has immersed herself in the communities she’s in & selflessly gives her time where she can. She has held numerous board positions for livestock organizations, VP of the Kiwanis Club, Round Rock Police Foundation Board Member, & a chamber member. With her years of experience in volunteer work, it is fitting that she is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Williamson County Fair and Rodeo.

When Kim’s not giving back to the community, you can find her with family at livestock shows, volleyball, football, and baseball games. She and her husband, Troy, have three amazing children Karly, Slade, and Brady.

Deana Cavanaugh - Board Secretary

Deana Cavanaugh has lived and worked in Williamson County since the spring of 2017 and immediately began volunteering in the community. She has been a Round Rock Chamber Ambassador since 2018 and chaired the program in 2023. Since 2021, she has sat on the Round Rock Chamber's Board of Directors and is currently serving on the executive committee as Secretary of the Board. She Chaired the Chamber's Ascend Leadership Program in 2021 and now sits on the Advisory Council for the program. In 2024, Deana received the Emerging Leader award from the Round Rock Chamber. Deana has been a member of the Chaparral Women's Club since 2021 and served as the Vice President of Fundraising in 2022, Treasurer in 2023, and is now the Club's President. Before joining Ascension Seton, Deana sat on the Seton Women's Development Board from 2020 to 2022 and chaired their annual gala in 2022. Now, with a kindergartener in Hutto ISD, Deana is an active member of the Nadine Johnson Elementary School's PTA. Deana began working for Ascension Seton in September of 2022, and is excited to continue serving Williamson County.

Julie Sharifian, Executive Board - Sponsorship Chair

Julie is a Native Texan and has lived in Williamson County most of her life. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Early Childhood Education.Julie is the Vice President of Development for Corridor Title in Georgetown.Her professional career has included education, the non-profit sector, politics/government, and business development.

Throughout her career, Julie has served her community through charitable & women’s organizations, including RRISD PTA’s, Austin Junior Forum, Chaparral Women’s Club, a graduate of Leander & Round Rock Chamber Leadership classes, Round Rock Woman’s Club, Round Rock Sweethearts Sponsor, Greater Round Rock Community Foundation Future Fund Co-Chair, Rotary Club of Round Rock and Professional Women of Williamson County.Julie brings a variety of experience and loves being a part of the Williamson County Fair & Rodeo Executive Board as the Sponsorship Chair.

Julie and her husband Bahman have raised their family in Round Rock and are the proud parents of Wyatt, Payton & Matthew.

Katherine Boles- Vendor Chair

Katherine was raised in Williamson County, attended Westwood High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas. She spent 25 years as a technical writer in oil and gas and defense industries in the Austin area and the last ten years as a small business owner in the events and hospitality industry. She is committed to our community and growing small businesses by mentoring other business owners as well as serving in the Round Rock Woman's Club and Professional Women of Williamson County. Katherine is the proud wife of Rusty and mom to Meg and Reese. She enjoys visiting Port Aransas, driving her 1997 Jeep Wrangler with the top down, tending to her roses and spoiling her dogs Rex and Augie.

Megan Das - Marketing Chair

Megan is an award winning marketing and finance professional and resident of Round Rock who moved to Texas early 2024. She is a member of Rotary Club of Round Rock and on the board of the Chaparral Women’s Club. Megan grew up riding horses and around the rodeo and is thrilled to pass on the tradition and pageantry to the next generation and believes there's no where better for rodeo fun than Williamson County, Texas. She's a proud University of Alabama Alumna and native Alabamian, who has spent time in Arkansas, Georgia and Florida and is extremely proud to now call herself a Texan. She is married to Dr. Srikant Das, a cardiologist at Texas Children's Hospital in Austin and they have two daughters.

Tessa Smith - Fair Queen Chair

Tessa Smith is a proud Native Texan who grew up immersed in rodeo and ranch life. Today, she serves as the Co-Branch Owner of the Georgetown office for the Ryan Smith Home Selling Team, is an active Board Member of the Downtown Georgetown Association, and proudly represented the state as Mrs. Texas International 2024, using her platform to advocate for addiction recovery and mental health awareness. She also serves on the board of We Are Those People, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing stories of addiction recovery and addressing the stigma on substance use disorder.

Tessa is a lead Trainer/Counselor at M&M Ranch, where she mentors young riders and continues to enjoy time in the saddle herself. As Chair of the Wilco Fair & Rodeo Queen Program, she is passionate about mentoring young women, celebrating rodeo traditions, and strengthening community values.

Tessa and her husband, Ryan, are raising their four children in Georgetown, where faith, family, and service remain at the heart of everything she does.

Hollis Bone

Hollis Bone has been in the banking industry for over 30 years, starting with a small

community bank in south Austin in 1994. He ultimately moved his office to the Round Rock

market in 2001, where he has lived since 1994 and has been an active member of the

business community. Hollis joined Frost Bank in 2024 and is currently a Senior Vice President and Community Leader in Georgetown, Texas.

Originally from Houston, Hollis moved to Austin in 1983 to attend the University of Texas and St. Edward’s University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 1993 Hollis has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 35 years. They have two daughters, Lindsey and Lauren, who grew up in Round Rock and both graduated from Round Rock High School.

Hollis is a baseball fanatic. He played baseball in high school and college and played in the

Austin Metro Baseball League for 25 years, “retiring” in 2023. Music is a lifelong passion,

whether he is singing, listening, or playing various instruments. He also likes woodworking, mainly building custom tables or other “farmhouse style” furniture.

Kolbi Andresen

Kolbi Andresen currently serves as the Executive Director for the Hutto Family YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Central Texas. A proud Red Raider who has dedicated his career to serving others and ensuring that the residents of Williamson County have access to quality programs for all ages.

In addition to working for the YMCA, Andresen has served and volunteered at multiple agencies within Williamson County, from Special Olympics to the Clay Sports Club of Round Rock.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, with stints in Wyoming and Arizona, he got to Texas as quickly as possible. When he is not serving his community, you can find him outdoors fishing or spending time with family and friends.

Gregg Miller

Gregg Miller is a retired community leader who has been actively involved with the Round Rock Community for over twenty years. Prior to moving to Round Rock, Gregg held several national sales leadership positions with ServiceMaster LLC, Marriott International and HOSTS Learning. Gregg and his family moved to Round Rock in 2004 to work for the Round Rock Express. He retired from the Express in 2017 as the Vice President of Business Development. Gregg spends much of his time volunteering in the community. He currently serves on several local boards including the Play for All Abilities Foundation, RRISD Partners in Education Foundation and just completed seven years as the Chairman of the YMCA of Central Texas Metro Board of Directors where he continues to serve as the Board Development Chair. Gregg has previously served on the Boards of the Foundation 50 for Hoag Hospital, the Hands Across the Border Foundation, was Chairman of the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce and interim Chairman of the Round Rock Chamber. Greg lives in Round Rock with his lovely wife of 50 years, Gail. He is also blessed with two daughters and eight wonderful grandchildren.

Russell Daniel

Russell Daniel is the founding Pastor of Hutto Community Church which started in 2018. He and his wife, Brooke, moved to Hutto in 2016 and quickly developed a deep affection for the community. In 2018, they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Haley.

Since moving to Hutto, Russell has been emersed in community engagement and has contributed his talents to various boards and commissions. Presently, he holds roles such as Strategic Planning Chair for the Hutto YMCA, Hutto Police Chaplain, and Hutto Cares Board Member. His past service includes positions as a Board Member for Hutto Has Heart, which he helped transition to the Hutto Resource Center, Board Chair for the TIRZ Board and Ethics Board, and Board Member for Hutto Young Life.

Beyond his commitments to the church and community, Russell loves the outdoors and enjoys working on projects around the house, attending sporting events of all kinds, hunting, and fitness.

Steve Laukhuf

CEO, One Voice Communications Inc. An award willing Marketing and Communications Company with offices based in Williamson County. Lifetime Texan, he raises Longhorn cattle on his Double S Ranch and enjoys rural living. Steve has served on numerous boards and commissions in Williamson County. Both for RRISD and the City of Round Rock and the YMCA. In 2008 he was Chair of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. In additional to Williamson County Fair & Rodeo Board as Scholarship Chair, He currently serves on the boards of Rodeo Austin, Rodeo Killeen, Member of the Taylor Rodeo Association and National Foundation Board of Phi Sigma Kappa. Along with various other diverse interests and hobbies, giving back to his community has always been a priority.

Judge Dan Gattis, Former Board VP

Gattis served his three terms as the County Judge for Williamson County from 2006 through 2018. He is on the Board of Directors for the Tobacco Fund Investment Committee He also served on the Board for the Conference of Urban Counties and served on the Executive Committee for Capital Area Planning Council of Governments.

He is a past chairman of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, past president of the Texas Association of Fairs and Events and past board member of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, National Finals Rodeo, and the Gulf Coast Agribusiness Council. He also spent over ten years on the Advisory Council to Dean of Agriculture for Texas Tech. Gattis served in 2011 on the external advisory committee for the selection of the Dean for Texas A&M University’s Department of Animal Sciences and has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the Texas FFA Foundation. Gattis has served as a member of the council of advisors for South Main Center Association and an advisory board member for The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau. He served on the Host Committee for the 1990 Economic Summit of Industrialized Nations.

Dan Gattis has been married for 54 years. He and his wife, Karen have two sons, Dan M. Gattis and Brent Gattis. The Gattis family owns a small ranching operation in Williamson County, Gattis Cattle Company L.L.C.

Patti Colbert, Former Board VP

Patti Colbert, is a living, breathing cowgirl who has finally retired in Georgetown, TX. When Colbert is not changing her grand kids, she is spending time with her horses.

She is currently competing in Stock Horse of Texas events on my American Quarter Horse, “Why So Serious.” In addition, Colbert is the Advisory Chairperson for the Ride on Center for Kids, and Board of Directors of the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

Colbert has an extensive career within the equine industry. Colbert owned and operated a recreational trail ride facility for 10 years with 20 to 30 geldings. She also has worked with Juvenile Probation Departments in two counties providing horse experiences. Colbert was the Executive Director of Texas Quarter Horse Association for seven years in addition to being the Senior Development Director for American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) for seven years. While contracting with the Bureau of Land Management, Wild Horse Division, Colbert began Patti Colbert Enterprises and created the Extreme Mustang Makeovers, Trainer Incentive Program, and other adoption programs for wild horses. She also created the “Time to Ride” national marketing programs while contracting with the American Horse Council.

During Colbert's extensive equine career, her proudest achievement was receiving 2014 American Horse Publications, Innovator of the Year Award and the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, Fern Sawyer Award.

Ron Randig

Ron is a multigenerational native to Taylor, Texas. He is the owner of Randig Insurance Agency selling auto, home, commercial, life and crop insurance. Ron served in a multitude of offices in various local and county-based organizations.

He has been married close to 30 years to Melissa where they were blessed with two daughters Macey and son- in- law Ethan, and Mallory.

Ron’s hobbies include beekeeping, raising several species of deer, cattle, goats, and a small tree farm. He is dedicated to helping the community he calls home.
